There are lots of companies that do not allow their people to visit social media or business network sites. And they are regretting it now. But still, social media sites are blocked by some companies, limiting their people’s access to valuable digital communities of thought and expertise.
But forward-thinking companies allow their people to learn something new, and to engage people online, to improve their knowledge. There shouldn’t be restrictions on engaging people online and exchanging knowledge. Even if you are working in the electronics appliances industry, you can connect online people working in the software industry or the digital marketing agency and apply systems and processes you learn from them to your industry. This accelerates company growth and innovation.
On the web, there are no geographic boundaries. We can surf anywhere and can learn anything. Online communities allow us to identify best practices, access large pools of talent, get mentored, and collaborate with people from around the world. Being a part of relevant online communities is a must for new generation professionals in the digital age.
In the pandemic situation, most companies are changing their mindset about social media and moving to get connected with digital platforms. Forward-thinking companies are taking advantage of digital solutions.
On the other hand, some companies are still struggling with digital tools. Since most of the company was not a forward-thinking company. That’s why we don’t have much digital finesse to make up for the industry crisis.
There is an opportunity for those people who are digitally finessed. And for all of you, we have room to learn digitality because it is not rocket science.
