Think of it like a race. Everyone's trying to reach the finish line, but we all just stick to running. We don't even think about trying something different, like flying. It's like we're all following the same path chosen by others. Whether it's in your personal life or business, if you stick to the same routine, you may not experience any growth. Changing your strategy is essential to achieve genuine progress.
Sometimes, I use the SSK method (Start, Stop, Keep) to stay different and competitive. However, rereading old books has helped me find new thoughts and strategies to become a better version of myself.
Every time I read the book Ikigai, I discover a new strategy for my life. It never fails to offer fresh thoughts and perspectives. I find myself re-evaluating the same passages in a different light. Surprisingly, even after reading it for the 6th time today, I'm still gaining new insights. I think I should write down what I have learned from the book today.
This book ‘Ikigai’ has ten rules that always seem to reveal something new each time I read them. In the past, I was all about staying active and doing what I love even after retiring. I imagined myself advising businesses or entrepreneurs. But today, everything changed. I'm not thinking about my career anymore. Instead, I want to focus on making our community a better place where everyone can be happy. I'm committed to spreading positive energy, no matter what others say. That's my promise, and I'll stick to it until the end, whether it makes sense or not. For me, it's a pledge to see something through to the very end.
When I last read the book, the concept of ‘taking it slow’ meant not rushing to achieve, but rather taking deliberate steps toward your goals. However, this time around, I've realized something new. I need to be slow in forming judgments about thoughts, people, or ideas. Yet, once convinced about something, I should make timely decisions. For instance, when hiring someone for your company, it's important to take your time, but when there's a valid reason to let someone go, don't waste time on individuals who could negatively impact your company culture.
The idea of ‘reconnecting with nature’ used to be my favorite concept. It inspired me to take more vacations and trips abroad, seeking to restore my connection with nature. However, this time around, I've had a different revelation. I found that going somewhere to reconnect with nature brings me more stress and disappointment. My family feels it's a waste of money and would prefer I save for the future. My friends expect gifts when I return, creating peer pressure. Additionally, our office bosses don't view it positively, adding pressure with KPIs and other demands. This stress has taken a toll on my life. After revisiting the book, I now see the value of a "clarity break" that doesn't require a change in location. I plan to reconnect with everything I have now, rebuilding relationships with family from scratch, and approaching my colleagues with a new perspective. Instead of seeking nature elsewhere, I realize that my true nature is within my surroundings.
Before, I interpreted the concept of "surround yourself with good friends" as meaning that I should keep those around me who have good relationships with me and support me. However, when I put this idea into practice, I found that I started losing quality friends who may not have been supportive, but from whom I could learn valuable things. Perhaps they didn't intend to help me, but their talent and discussions about new strategies, technology, and updates helped me grow. Yet, by adhering to my initial thoughts, I ended up gathering less knowledgeable people whose ideas didn't contribute to my growth.
My invitation is for all of you, If you have read any books, try to reread those books you will get new perspectives and thoughts. If you practice any ideas from any books try to reconnect with them. Maybe that time you have a perspective by rereading you might get something new that might help you more than before.
