Learning to Learn
Every day, we absorb vast amounts of information, but much of it fails to register in our brains, leading to a loss of what we’ve learned. For instance, we might know some traffic rules from various sources, yet when asked if we know them, we often respond with a “no.” However, after attending a training session on traffic rules, we confidently say, “Yes, I know those.” Why? Because that training allowed us to effectively register the information in our brains, making it accessible when needed. In contrast, when we acquire knowledge through informal means, it often doesn't get stored properly, making it harder to retrieve later.
To improve this, start consciously registering everything you learn from personal research as knowledge. By doing this, you'll become a valuable resource over time.
